Branch Competitions

The Branch Lifesaving Championships are normally held during June each year.  The competition is open to all members of the Branch with sections for Junior and Senior Pairs (girls and boys); Individuals and Masters.  The competition comprises four elements:  an Aquatic Initiative Test, Life Support Initiative, Line Throw and a Swim & Tow.

All the events in the Championships are designed to encourage the development of lifesaving skills and as such they provide invaluable motivation for training.  RLSS UK is now entering some of the larger European and World Competitions, where speed is given greater priority than skill.  As a result, some of the events reflect that bias.
